Director Biography - Megan Baer, Writer and Director

Growing up near the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, Megan Baer has had a passion for exploring the natural and fictional world around her through a lens since she can remember. She enjoys educating herself as much as others with the power of discovering new perspectives through film, believing good stories inspire the greatest changes in those who embrace them. She is a big fan of getting her hands dirty, fresh air, and lugging cameras through airport security lines to her next projects.

Director Statement

“The American deaf and hard of hearing population is more than a group of individuals with the inability to hear. While the deaf community is often characterized as those who use ASL (American Sign Language) to communicate, a part of the deaf population that is often overlooked are those who are able to speak and hear due to the benefits of developing methods such as cochlear implants, speech therapy, and hearing aids. We understand that while this does not represent the entire deaf community as a whole, we hope it serves as an open conversation with those who are working and living with hearing technology.”
